“HOZONHOZON Bosai Series” was born in collaboration with Yokohama Okadaya as a line of long shelf life foods, and SwimmyDesignLab managed the branding of the products. We made the package designs more fun and comical than the existing emergency goods with the aim of raising spirits even in the face of a disaster.

“The packages of long shelf life emergency foods are basically simple and they all look similar. This might be because common sense tells us fun and cheerfulness is not appropriate for serious situations. On the other hand, I have read an article which reported that more than a few of those affected by the Tohoku earthquake actually wanted to see entertainment programs when all the TV companies stopped showing variety shows. This is why ‘HOZONHOZON Bosai Series’ was born and the packages are designed with comical drawings and eye-catching colors so that they might raise spirits in the face of disaster.”
